Jaibazul has approximately 230 meters of beach on the Caribbean Sea. Four species of sea turtle come to spawn on this beach, which is approximately 13 km long, year after year: green turtle (Chelonia midas), Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) and Leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriácea).
Nest protection is critical, as only 1 in every 1,000 turtles makes it to adulthood.
