Colombia is the country with the greatest diversity of birds in the world, with more than 1500 species. In Jaibazul 146 species have been identified so far, among which there are several 19 migratory species and 3 endangered species: Chauna chavaria, Ramphastos ambiguus and Pluvialis squatarola.
The large number of birds in Jaibazul is explained by its geographical location, the fact that it is a transitional forest between wet and dry, the coast that offers food for fisher birds and the presence of a mangrove with its own diversity.
